Terms of Use
Setzy · Last updated 3 September 2026
These terms cover using Setzy. Using the app means agreeing to them. They are written to be read, and they are short because Setzy is free and does not do very much that needs a rule.
Setzy is not medical or fitness advice
Setzy records what you tell it and does arithmetic on it. It is not a coach, a doctor or a physiotherapist, and nothing in it is medical advice. Resistance training carries a risk of injury. Decide what is safe for you, and talk to a qualified professional if you are unsure or have a condition that training could affect.
Estimated one-rep maxes are labelled "est." throughout because they are a calculation from reps you performed, not a weight you lifted. Do not attempt a lift because Setzy displayed a number.
Your account
- You must be 16 or over.
- One person per account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, including your date of birth.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your data is yours
You keep ownership of everything you put into Setzy — workouts, plans, measurements, photos, and anything you write. You can export it at any time from Account → Export your data, and delete it by deleting your account.
By publishing a plan or sharing a workout, you give us permission to show that content to the people you shared it with, and — for a published plan or a share link — to display it publicly and let other people adopt it. That permission exists only so the feature can work. It ends when you unpublish or revoke, except that plans other people have already adopted remain theirs to train on, and a published listing survives account deletion with the author anonymised.
What you may not do
- Post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, or that impersonates someone else.
- Publish plans that are dangerous, deliberately misleading, or spam.
- Upload a profile picture you have no right to use, or one containing another person who has not agreed to it.
- Attempt to access another person's account or data, probe the service for vulnerabilities, or work around its limits.
- Scrape, resell, or build a competing dataset from other people's content.
- Use Setzy to collect data about other people beyond what the app shows you.
You can report a profile or a plan from inside the app. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules. A profile with several unresolved reports is hidden from search while it is reviewed; that is a precaution, not a finding.
Following and privacy between users
Your profile is private by default and following you requires your approval. You can remove a follower or block someone, and blocking removes any follow between you in both directions. What other people can see about you is described in the Privacy Policy, and every part of it is something you switched on.
The service itself
Setzy is free. There is no subscription, no advertising and nothing to buy.
It is provided as is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of faults. Setzy works offline and keeps your data on your device, so an outage on our side does not stop you logging a workout — but you should not rely on it as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Export it if it matters.
We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down we will give notice in the app with enough time to export your data.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using Setzy. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions apply only as far as permitted, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Who you are agreeing with
Setzy is built and operated by Samuel Diny, an individual developer based in Wisconsin, United States. There is no company behind it — when these terms say "we", that is who they mean.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that has to go to court will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.
That does not take away rights you have where you live. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or anywhere else with mandatory consumer-protection law, you keep the protection of that law and you may bring a claim in your own local courts. A choice of law cannot sign those rights away, and this one does not try to.
Ending it
You can stop using Setzy whenever you like and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Continuing to use Setzy after that means accepting the new terms.
